Daily rate (TJM)

What is Daily rate (TJM)?

The daily rate (TJM in French) is the average cost or price of one working day for a person or profile, used to value project workload and compare internal staff with contractors.

Key points

In IT, the internal daily rate (fully loaded cost ÷ productive days) is distinguished from the rate billed by a contractor. Valuing allocations at the daily rate ties the capacity plan to the budget.

Formula

Internal daily rate = annual fully loaded cost ÷ annual productive days

Example

An annual loaded cost of €72,000 over 200 productive days gives a daily rate of €360.
