Resource planning

Last updated :

What is Resource planning?

Resource planning assigns named people to projects or tasks on specific dates. It shows who works on what, when, and at what percentage of their time.

Key points

Capacity planning gives the aggregated view (do we have enough capacity?); resource planning gives the operational view (who is assigned to what?). They complement each other.

Good resource planning relies on skills, real availability, and portfolio priority rules.
